Fans of Survivor can soon join in on strategic gameplay from their very own cities.
During its 11th season in 2005, Survivor, the Emmy-winning reality competition series, introduced a fundamentally game-changing advantage: the hidden immunity idol. The pocket-size idol, as Survivor fans know, is a secret object hidden on the island that, when found and played at Tribal Council, protects a contestant from being voted out.
The show, which premiered in 2000, famously revolves around a select group of contestants known as castaways who must fend for themselves on a remote island, while competing in challenges for rewards and immunity. The last castaway standing takes home a $1 million cash prize. Hidden immunity idols are coveted in the game.
Now these coveted talismans will be available nationwide, as part of what CBS has dubbed the Survivor 50 Challenge. Beginning on Jan. 30, immunity idols will be hidden across all 50 states. To win the challenge, fans must solve riddles and be the first in their state to find the physical idol.
“Next season, Survivor hits a major milestone: Our 50th season. And to celebrate, we’re having you be a part of the fun,” Jeff Probst, Survivor host and executive producer, said in a video promoting the scavenger hunt. “This is your moment. For the first time ever, we are taking Survivor across America. We’ve hidden immunity idols — 50 of them — one in every state. Your job? Solve the clues, find the idols for a shot at an unbelievable prize.”
Survivor fans can officially join the multi-week challenge by visiting Survivor50Challenge.com and signing up for email alerts on the Survivor 50 Digital Hub. When the time comes, idol clues will be given. If an idol is found, you must take a photo of yourself wearing it and post it to the Survivor 50 Digital Hub. An additional winner, according to CBS’s official press release, will also be selected through an “online component” of the challenge.

“Survivor has always been about testing yourself — solving problems, facing the unknown and finding out what you’re made of,” Probst said in a statement. “For 25 years, fans have watched players take that journey. Now, with the Survivor 50 Challenge, we’re letting fans try it for themselves! This goes way beyond finding idols, it’s a chance to step into the game like never before. America has watched players outwit, outplay and outlast for decades — now it’s your turn. The hunt is on. Time to dig deep!”
The Survivor 50 Challenge will officially conclude on Feb. 25, 2026, just before Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans premieres at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
